Israel!

I arrived in Israel a few days ago and what a difference from Egpyt. It is amazing what a border crssing can do. Third world right into first world. On the downside, I did like the prices better in Egypt. Anyway, I have spent most of my time so far in Jerusalem and I am still amazed at how much history is crammed into such a small area. I guess that is why there is so much fighting here. Israel is prepared for anything though as you can see just by walking down the street. 18 - 20 yr olds go the the military here and they can be seen in military or civilian attire casually walking around with their guns. It is just the way of life here. I have spent three days taking in as much as possible in Jerusalem, including the Western Wall, the Dome of the Rock and the City of David (named after me of course). Yesterday, I was looking down on the Dead Sea from the top of Masada where many jews committed suicide rather than be forced into slavery by the Romans. Later that day, I was floating in the Dead Sea (when I wasn't covered in the Dead Sea mud). I am crossing over into Jordan tomorrow to see Petra, one of the new seven wonders of the world before I head up to northern Israel and eventually Tel Aviv. Photos soon - I promise.
